If you’re a pet owner, you already know how much they bring to your lives. Why not have them blessed for providing us with unconditional love? Join us as we celebrate the Festival of St. Francis of Assisi. Conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures, a procession of animals, from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses, are welcome for a special ceremony called the Blessing of the Animals. Father Gary Jackson of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Cocoa Village, will officiate the Blessing of the Animals. All pets are welcome on a leash or in appropriate carriers.

The Brevard Kennel Club will also be in attendance with members and their beautiful dogs who will provide a Meet the Breeds presentation.

After the Blessing, City of Cocoa officials will perform a special ribbon cutting promoting the fact that Cocoa Village is officially “Pet Friendly”. Maps will be distributed indicating Cocoa Village “pet friendly” merchants that have a red “paw” in their windows and the locations of “pet duty stations” throughout Cocoa Village.

All donations will benefit the Florida Wildlife Hospital & Sanctuary, Palm Shores, Florida, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to Florida’s wildlife in need.
